To all Cyclists and Cross Country Skiers:

Please come out and help with our annual fundraiser this weekend, the Revolution Single Track Escape MTB Race.  The cycling club and nordic ski club makes most of its money for trail upkeep and growth this weekend and we need the help of all cyclists and nordic skiers in the area.  We literally go through thousands of dollars in equipment and maintenance each year and would appreciate all the help we can get over the weekend.  Volunteer times are as follows, please come to 1 or more of the time slots and show your support of the trails.  Plus this year volunteers for the race will receive a custom Trail Fundraiser MMCC T-Shirt as well as refreshments.

Volunteer Times are as follows:

  • Saturday Course Set Up 2pm to approximately 5:30pm
  • Sunday 8am to Noon
  • Sunday Noon to approximately 4pm

Thank you to all for your support of both cycling and the trails and we look forward to seeing you.  Please share this message with fellow cyclists and cross country skiers as both clubs benefit from this fundraiser!  Together we can make cycling and skiing better in our community year after year!

A huge THANK YOU to those who have donated time and goods to our race this year, a huge shout out to Ben Doom for shouldering the burden as Race Director, Salsa Cycles for donating a Spearfish Frame and other goodies, Tom H. for all of the swag you donate year after year, Good Earth Food Co-op, Sunburst Granite , Manea's Meats and last but not least Revolution Cycle and Ski as well as all of the MN Mountain Bike Series awesome sponsors.

Thanks,

MMCC Board of Directors

Volunteers Needed for STE

For those wanting to help with the race, course set up is starting Saturday at 2 pm.  Sunday crew help should be there at 8 or a wee bit earlier.  Two shifts 8-noon and noon-done.  Course clean up, etc will commence at the end of the last race...shooting for 4 or so.  Thanks in advance for any help. (copied from Ben's Blog)

Also, we need some baked goods.  If your unable to help with the race please bake some cookies, banana bread or bars. Something yummy!  Wrap them up in individual servings and get them to Revolution Cycle and Ski or to the race on Sunday a.m. so we can sell them at the concession stand.

Thank You to everyone who's helped get our trails in tip top shape for the race.  A big thanks to Gerry Taylor for blowing out the trails as well as Tom M.!  I hear it's quite shocking!  :)

Hope to see you all out there, we've got a sweet prize for the first 25 volunteers to show up on Sunday a.m.

MTB Skills clinic

Just a reminder that the MTB skills clinic is tonight on the N. Loop at 6 p.m.  Bring a helmet, working mtb and an eagerness to learn!

Retired professional mountain biker Kyia Anderson in association with Revolution Cycle and Ski will be leading a free skills clinic at the North Loop in St. Cloud, MN on Monday September 17th at 6:00pm. The clinic is open to all off road cyclists. Kyia will share the skills with clinic goers that brought her years of local victories and noteworthy finishes at world cup and national events.

Kyia is an experienced clinic teacher who is noted for bringing peoples technical skills up by starting with the basics and then showing how those skills can be introduced to features on the trail. Come share a great night of learning and riding with Kyia on September 17th in St. Cloud and prepare for the MN series race on September 23rd!

Race Coming up on Sept. 23rd

Greetings:

We are looking for a volunteer or two to use the leaf blower and blow out Twisted Sister sometime in the next week or so.  If you know the trail route and would like to do this it should only take about an hour or so to do.  Please contact me to get a blower/gas if interested.

Also we will need lots of volunteers and racers for our annual fundraiser on September 23rd.  Please mark this on your calendars.  This is our primary fund raiser to conduct trail work each year so we appreciate everyone helping.  The raffle prizes are also always huge for the event.  More info on this will follow.  Also retired pro Kyia Anderson will be conducting a skills clinic on Monday night September 17th at the North Loop.

Best regards,

MMCC
