Membership Drive 2014
Dear Fellow Cyclist:
The 2014 MMCC Membership drive is now in effect. Please bring in the attached form and associated payment to either Revolution Cycle and Ski or Fitzharris Bike and Sport to get your 2014 membership goodies and support the trails.
As in previous years we are focusing our efforts on maintaining trails for cyclists and providing riding opportunities. Riding opportunities exist on the road on Tuesday and Thursday nights from Revolution and Fitzharris. Fall off road group rides are pending.
With regard to trail work we are looking for a handful of volunteers that can pick 2 dates this summer and/or early fall and lead trail work at River Bluffs (plum creek). Volunteers need to have a vehicle that can pull the club trailer, have participated in previous sessions to have knowledge of the trail and be able to lead the work session and delegate volunteers to the correct areas. In addition volunteers will need to get fuel and beverages for the event (to be reimbursed). If you are interested in doing this please email back. We are looking to fill a schedule of summer mowing every other week.
There also is the opportunity for a MN High School League team from the area. If anyone is interested in leading this please let us know.
We also are looking for volunteers to work on a free ride section at River Bluffs. If you are interested in working on these please email back.
We are pleased to announce that the majority of the N. Loop is now open for riding. A short section of 2 way trail exists to allow for the opening. Please as always respect closed portion of the trail, and encourage other cyclists to become members to support the trails. Without membership dollars the trails would not be possible. Plum Creek is expected to open shortly.
Thanks for your continued support of trails and cycling in mid MN.
